His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, confirmed today that the Ministry is working according to 3 main indicators, the foremost of which is improving services for residents and improving the urban landscape in the Kingdom, in addition to raising the percentage of Saudi families owning homes, noting that the Ministry is working to have 70% of its services privatized in 2030.

This came during the session in which His Excellency participated in the State Budget Conference for the year 2023 entitled “Basic Services in Light of the National Transformation”, with the participation of His Excellency the Minister of Health, Professor Fahd Al-Jalajel, His Excellency the CEO of the National Housing Company, Engineer Mohammed Al-Bati, and His Excellency the CEO of NUPCO, Fahd Al-Shibl.

Al-Haqil pointed out that the ministry is working to ensure that 80% of city residents have access to parks within an 800 m2 area, by increasing the area of parks and green spaces, stressing that the ministry has a strategy whose most important pillars are improving services.

During the session, His Excellency stated that the housing sector has witnessed several achievements that keep pace with the growth and development of the blessed budget. We have worked to facilitate the search for housing through 9 available options. Because of our closeness to the citizen, we found that needs and desires differ from one person to another. Therefore, we created financing options and more diverse housing products. He indicated that more than 1.4 million Saudi families have benefited since the launch of the housing program, noting the goal of providing 300,000 housing units with the support of the wise leadership – may God support them – most of which are concentrated in the most expensive areas to balance prices. His Excellency also indicated that 30,000 housing units have been allocated to the most needy families in all regions of the Kingdom in cooperation with more than 350 associations, and work is underway to reach 70,000 housing units this year and next year. He noted the depth of the partnership between the Ministry and 200 real estate developers to achieve the targets in the housing sector, in addition to allocating 18 billion riyals to establish the Guarantees Company to contribute to the growth of the real estate financing sector.

During the session, the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing stated that the ministry’s digital services aim to reduce visits by clients to municipalities and secretariats by 90%. The digital transformation in the municipal and housing sectors has enabled beneficiaries to complete 94% of services without needing to visit secretariats or municipalities. The “Baladi” platform has served more than 3.2 million users, while the “Sakani” platform has served more than 3.4 million users.
