Al-Hogail concludes his visit to Rabat with a meeting with senior officials in Moroccan government and reviews a number of urban experiences

H.E. Minister of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing, Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, concluded Thursday his official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco that aims to boost bilateral relations and review fruitful experiences between the Kingdom and Morocco in several fields related to city infrastructure, real-estate development, and promoting sustainable urban development.

At the end of the three-day visit, His Excellency met with Minister of National Territory Planning, Urbanism, Housing and City Policy Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri in the presence of representatives from Omran Group, a governmental entity specialized in real-estate development. During the meeting, the Saudi minister was briefed on several Moroccan experiences in the fields of real-estate development and improving the quality of life in cities.

The visit witnessed several meetings and visits to projects and urban sites, where Al-Hogail met with a group of senior officials in the Moroccan government, including Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development Leila Benali and Minister of Equipment and Water Nizar Baraka, and was informed about cooperation enhancement, joint work, and experiences exchange in the municipal and housing sectors.

 The Saudi minister reviewed the major developments witnessed in Saudi Arabia in the sectors of infrastructure, housing, real-estate development, and urban development in light of the development programs and initiatives of Vision 2030, refereeing to the Saudi achievements in developing the infrastructure of cities and residential communities and improving the quality of life.

Al-Hogail pointed out that the Kingdom has achieved a major development leap in the housing sector through the Housing Program - one of the programs of Vision 2030 - which contributed to raising the rate of residential ownership from 47% in 2016 to over 60% by the end of 2022, adding that MOMRAH aims to provide over 300,000 housing units with modern construction techniques, on areas of more than 150 million square meters, with an investment value of more than SR100 billion.

It is worth mentioning that the visit of His Excellency the Minister of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing to Morocco is part of a series of official international visits he undertakes to learn about successful international experiences in the fields of urban development and real estate development. The visit aims to enhance cooperation with major specialized companies worldwide in various municipal and housing sectors.
