Al Hogail: The establishment of the National Center for Inspection and Oversight (NCIO) aims to improve the business environment by unifying inspection and oversight activities among government entities

His Excellency Minister of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Center for Inspection and Oversight (NCIO), Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Hogail, expresses heartfelt gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, may God protect them, on the occasion of the Council of Ministers’ approval for the establishment of NCIO. NCIO aims to coordinate inspection and oversight activities among government entities.

Al Hogail emphasized that NCIO’s responsibilities include procedures that ensure adopting transparency and integrity in inspection and oversight activities, reviewing mechanisms for the formation of committees of objection settlement in order to safeguard the rights of all parties, and implementing awareness campaigns in cooperation with government entities to raise awareness of laws and regulations, thereby contributing to improving compliance rates.

He added, "NCIO will collaborate with relevant government entities to develop a plan to unify inspection and oversight activities among different government entities. This plan will be gradually implemented, considering the geographic scope of implementation and the areas of inspection and oversight to be unified, with the aim of reducing the burden of repetitive inspection visits from multiple entities to private sector facilities." This, he noted, will contribute to improving the business environment in the Kingdom.

It is worth mentioning that the establishment of NCIO is one of the national initiatives aimed at improving the business environment in the Kingdom, in line with the goals of Vision 2030.
