Al-Hogail inspects municipal and residential projects in Taif and witnesses MoU signing to establish service, commercial and tourism facilities

His Excellency Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, inspected today, Wednesday, during his visit to Taif Governorate, the progress of work on a number of development projects under the supervision of the Governorate Secretariat, in order to follow up on the latest developments in a number of municipal and residential projects.

Al-Hogail met with the Mayor of Taif, Eng. Abdullah bin Khamis Al-Zaidi, and the leaders and officials of the Governorate's Municipality, and was briefed on the strategic transformation plans, targets, and municipal indicators. The achieved accomplishments, challenges, and plans for urban development, housing, and urban sustainability in the Governorate were also reviewed.

His Excellency was informed about the accomplishments in projects to address visual pollution and mitigate flood risks and rainwater drainage, as well as road paving, lighting, and public park projects. The key achievements and targets to enhance integration with the private sector and increase their participation in improving services and benefiting from investment opportunities in the Governorate were also discussed.

The progress of infrastructure and development projects, and the urban development system under the "Humanizing the City" program were discussed, in addition to the development plans to improve the quality of municipal services provided to the population. He also reviewed the operational performance indicators, current challenges, and ways to address them, emphasizing the importance of continuing efforts to improve the quality of services through the preparation and development of infrastructure and improving the urban landscape to enhance the experience of citizens, visitors, and tourists.

The Minister met with a number of investors and businessmen in Arruddaf Park in Taif Governorate. The meeting discussed the investment opportunities provided by the Ministry in the municipal and housing sectors within the development programs and initiatives aimed at achieving the objectives of the Vision 2030, noting the facilities provided by the Ministry to investors to stimulate investment in the sector.

During the visit, the Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing met with His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nahar bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Taif. The meeting discussed the municipal projects and initiatives aimed at humanizing the city, enhancing the quality of life for residents, and enriching the experience of visitors and tourists, as well as discussing the economic incentives to contribute to creating new investment opportunities and benefiting from the qualitative advantages enjoyed by Taif Governorate to support the developmental, economic and tourism movement and develop the business environment.

Following his meeting with the Governor of Taif, at the Governorate headquarters, the Minister witnessed the signing of several memoranda of understanding between the Taif Municipality and several investment companies to establish a number of commercial, tourism, environmental and service facilities, as well as the signing of several community partnerships between third sector institutions.

It is noteworthy that the visit of the Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing to Taif Governorate is part of a series of inspection visits made by His Excellency to various cities, governorates and regions of the Kingdom, to inspect the progress of the projects, initiatives and programs of the Ministry in the municipal and housing sectors, and to follow up on the progress of the development projects.
