The Ministry of Municipality and Housing, represented by the Deputy Ministry for Urban Operator Regulation, organized a workshop for the National Program for the Development of Collective Housing for Individuals. The event was attended by the Assistant Deputy Minister for Sector Development and Secretary of the National Program for the Development of Collective Housing for Individuals, Eng. Hassan Zain Al Deen, with the participation of representatives from 10 government entities and several Ministry leaders.

During the workshop, a visual presentation was given highlighting the program's achievements and the accomplishments of participating entities in 2022. This included awareness campaigns aimed at promoting the culture of healthy residential environments among owners and residents of collective housing, raising awareness levels among targeted groups, measuring the program's impact from its inception until the third quarter of 2022, and updating initiative cards for 2023. The workshop also reviewed the key achievements of the media committee.

The workshop addressed the strategic target indicators, including measuring the percentage of labor whose housing locations have been disclosed on the Collective Housing Platform, visitor satisfaction rates for licensing and disclosure platforms, the percentage of licenses issued via the fast-track path, and reducing the licensing issuance period. Additionally, the workshop discussed governance enhancements and streamlining procedures among relevant entities for the development of collective housing.

Program members emphasized the importance of safeguarding the rights of individuals in collective housing by providing suitable living environments, ensuring safety measures, and coordinating between entities to launch the "Ideal Housing Award," which aims to foster a competitive environment among collective housing service providers and increase worker satisfaction with their accommodations.

The workshop also shed light on the program's national impact indicators, achieving the targets for collective housing quality, improving compliance indicators through the enhancement of licensing and inspection procedures, and aligning supply and demand in the collective housing sector by ensuring an adequate supply of licensed properties to stimulate market competition and offer investment opportunities across the Kingdom.

The workshop concluded with a presentation of the program’s final recommendations and agreement on next steps, which are expected to enhance coordination among entities and contribute to the development of the collective housing system. The Secretary of the National Program for the Development of Collective Housing for Individuals honored the participating entities for their contributions to the program.

It is noteworthy that the National Program for the Development of Collective Housing for Individuals is chaired by the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, with membership from the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (Modon), Economic Cities and Special Zones Authority, and the Public Health Authority (Weqaya).
