Fourth Forum for General Managers of Sanitation in Provinces’ Municipalities and Related Entities concluded its activities. The Forum was organized by the Ministry's Agency for Projects and Public Health in collaboration with the General Directorate of Community Participation, hosted by the Asir Province Municipality under the slogan "For a Clean Environment ... We Add a Memorable Touch." The Forum took place over two days and was attended by the Governor of Asir Province, Engineer Abdullah Al-Jali, the Deputy Governor for City Operations, Dr. Mohammed Al-Awi, the Director-General of the General Directorate of Sanitation at the Ministry, Khaled Al-Osaimi, directors of public sanitation, representatives from the municipalities, The National Center for Waste Management, Sark Company, the National Center for Environmental Compliance, and several officials from private sector companies operating in the sanitation field.

The Governor of Asir Province emphasized that the Forum enjoys effective participation from relevant entities, which undoubtedly will contribute to a qualitative leap in sanitation services across various regions of the Kingdom. The aim is to elevate the sanitation business system to high levels of quality and enhance the quality of services provided to the population.

The participants in the Forum recommended preparing a guide related to licensing carriers for the municipalities by The National Center for Waste Management (MOWAN). Additionally, they discussed the preparation of permit and license agreement by MOWAN and shared solutions regarding the challenges facing sanitation services. They also emphasized the alignment between the National Center for Environmental Compliance and the municipalities in monitoring "scrap and landfills."

The Forum aims to enhance cleanliness and public health, improve service quality in cities, promote transparency in the municipal sector, optimize waste management, organize and implement city sanitation projects according to the highest quality standards, exchange experiences and success stories among the municipalities, address challenges, overcome obstacles, review future plans and investment opportunities in the waste sector, and improve the sanitation system in the Kingdom's cities. These efforts contribute to achieving high-quality standards in sanitation services and improving services provided to the beneficiaries in cities, aligning with the goals of Quality of Life Program, one of Vision 2030 programs in Saudi Arabia.
