Delivering in Ownership 6,000 Units to Beneficiaries of the Developmental Housing Program, and Participation of 117,000 Volunteers in Urban Development During the First Half of 2024

The Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing (MOMRAH), represented by the Real Estate Development Fund, announced provision of 6,000 housing units to the neediest families in various regions of the Kingdom during the first half of the current year 2024, as part of the Ministry's efforts to provide suitable housing for beneficiaries of the "Developmental Housing" program.

MOMRAH stated in a press release today that it is seeking to offer more than 18,000 new housing units for the beneficiaries of the Developmental Housing services during the second half of the current year, with the aim of enabling the neediest families to own suitable housing.

MOMRAH indicated that the Developmental Housing program has contributed since the beginning of the year to supporting more than 19,000 cases of rental defaults; to achieve social protection for those who are delinquent in paying rent, and to carry out 25,000 development interventions to meet the development needs of the beneficiary families, in addition to addressing 15,000 service requests to enhance the satisfaction of the beneficiaries.

The Ministry pointed out that about 99,000 digital operations were carried out, which contributed to improving the experience of partner associations to facilitate the service of beneficiaries, and providing 135 development programs for the neediest families through its partners in the private and non-profit sectors, as well as establishing and empowering 35 non-profit organizations during the same period.

In terms of volunteer efforts, MOMRAH revealed the participation of more than 117,000 male and female volunteers in the development and sustainability of Saudi cities during the same period; including 45,000 volunteers in improving the urban scene, landscaping parks and maintaining public facilities in the regions of the Kingdom, in addition to the participation of 17,500 volunteers in monitoring visual distortion elements and controlling residential units.

Over 3,500 volunteers participated in the delivery, maintenance and humanization of housing units, and more than 10,000 volunteers participated in Grace Preservation campaigns. In addition, 1,300 volunteers partook in honoring the deceased and assisting the families of the deceased, and 39,000 volunteers participated in general community activities within residential neighborhoods and seasonal events.

It is worth mentioning that the "Developmental Housing" is one of the initiatives of the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing aimed at providing housing units for the neediest families covered by the care of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (Social Security), in cooperation with more than 300 civil society associations.
