The Developmental Housing Fund signs an agreement with Abdullah Al-Othaim & Sons Charitable Foundation to provide 1,000 housing units for the most needy families.

The Developmental Housing Program signed a bilateral cooperation agreement with the Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Othaim and Sons Charitable Foundation to provide 1,000 housing units for the most needy families benefiting from the program in all regions of the Kingdom, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, and his deputy, His Excellency Engineer Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Budair.

The program explained in a press release today that the agreement aims to achieve integration between "developmental housing" and the non-profit sector to provide 1,000 housing units for program beneficiaries in all cities and regions of the Kingdom, which will activate the role of civil associations in the housing sector and increase the contribution to the gross domestic product by supporting developmental housing projects in the Kingdom, and enhance the participation of community members to achieve social stability for the most needy families, and increase the rate of homeownership for Saudi families in accordance with the objectives of the Housing Program - one of the programs of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 - To 70% by 2030.

The agreement was signed by the Deputy Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing for Developmental Housing and Community Participation, Engineer Ahmed bin Ali Al-Qaraawi, and the General Supervisor of the Abdullah Saleh Al-Othaim and Sons Charitable Foundation, Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Kabir.

The agreement includes providing the program with land within the urban area in some regions and governorates of the Kingdom and granting ownership to the beneficiaries, provided that the institution builds 1,000 housing units on this land according to the architectural and planning specifications and requirements set by the Ministry.

The Deputy Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing for Developmental Housing and Community Participation noted that this agreement comes within the framework of striving to achieve what Vision 2030 stipulated in terms of creating the necessary environment for the non-profit sector to take the initiative in facing challenges and seizing opportunities to provide suitable housing support for the most needy families of social security beneficiaries, in addition to enabling the non-profit sector to be more effective in the housing sector. It also comes within the framework of raising the contribution of the non-profit sector to the gross domestic product and striving to support developmental housing projects in all regions, governorates and centers of the Kingdom and combining and integrating efforts in taking advantage of the available systems and capabilities.
