The second edition of the Future Real Estate Forum, to be held in Riyadh from January 23-25, 2023, under the patronage of His Excellency Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, will feature intensive discussions on legislative systems and their implementing regulations in the real estate sector, including dispute resolution and real estate arbitration mechanisms. These discussions will take place through a series of introductory sessions and workshops, with the participation of leading experts specializing in real estate, as well as dozens of thought leaders, consultants, businesspeople, and investors from within the Kingdom and abroad. The sessions and workshops will address the framework of local legislative systems and regulations that have contributed to building an attractive competitive environment and governance that has led to improved quality of real estate services and the removal of obstacles. This has helped protect the rights of those involved in the real estate sector, which in turn has contributed to promoting sustainable development within the real estate system. The forum will also explore best practices and global experiences in the real estate sector. During the workshops and sessions, participants and speakers will discuss a number of topics related to real estate from all angles. These include real estate infrastructure and its impact on enhancing the Kingdom's position as an attractive destination for real estate investment, real estate valuation, local and international practices and experiences, real estate disputes and alternative dispute resolution methods, property registration, real estate technology, and the future challenges facing the real estate sector. Artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and big data in the real estate sector will also feature prominently and be the subject of extensive discussion among thought leaders and entrepreneurs participating in the forum. Among the most prominent topics to be discussed is urban development and smart cities of the future, which possess a civilizational dimension. These cities utilize the best and latest innovative technological solutions encompassing economic, human, and governance aspects, as well as improving residents' living standards, ease of movement within cities, and environmental health. The overall aim is to improve quality of life, enhance the efficiency of urban operations and services, and boost competitiveness, thereby meeting the economic, social, and cultural needs of current and future generations. It is worth noting that the Council of Ministers has approved several real estate regulations in the recent period, including the Real Estate Registration Law and the Real Estate Brokerage Law, along with their implementing regulations. These regulations have a positive impact on achieving a good return on GDP in the real estate sector, in addition to making this sector attractive to local and foreign investment. These regulations are vital to the sector in attracting foreign companies to enter the Saudi real estate market, increasing its effectiveness, and enhancing the competitiveness and marketing capabilities of real estate. The Future of Real Estate Forum series aims to contribute to improving the performance of the real estate sector in the Kingdom in general, as well as improving the performance of real estate establishments, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and raising the quality of the tools they use and the services they provide. It also aims to expand job opportunities for young men and women in the Kingdom in various fields within the real estate sector. The forum will discuss ten strategic themes covering various aspects of the real estate sector in the Kingdom and its alignment with the regional and global real estate system, through a number of sessions and workshops.
