Housing Minister allows disabled bachelor individuals to receive housing subsidies

His Excellency Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing Majid Al-Hogail, issued a ministerial decision approving the amendment of Article (3)(D)(4) of the Implementing Regulations for Housing Subsidies. The decision aims to improve the beneficiaries’ ability to afford housing costs, in order to achieve the Housing Program objectives, as mandated by Saudi Vision 2030. The Program provides appropriate housing opportunities for Saudi families, by providing multiple housing products and various financing solutions, suitable for the different segments of society.

In a press release, MOMRAH mentioned the Amendment's verbatim: “A person over the age of 25 who has a crippling incurable disease or a person with a severe disability shall be deemed a family, upon submittal of medical reports issued by the relevant authorities and approved by the Ministry.”

This decision follows serious joint-efforts by MOMRAH and the Authority for the Care of People with Disabilities, to enable persons with severe disabilities to be a first homeowner, which contributes to elevating their quality of life, meeting their needs, and achieving family stability.
