During the 40th meeting of the Council held in Tripoli, Libya, the Council of Arab Ministers for Housing and Reconstruction (CAMHR) issued a decision today to restructure the Executive Office under the presidency of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the years 2024-2025, and to choose the president, his deputy and members of the Executive Office of the Council.

The Kingdom's engagement in the Arab meeting reflects its ongoing commitment to bolster Arab collaboration in housing and reconstruction. The discussions aimed to address shared concerns and pertinent topics among member states. They also discussed and reviewed the approved decisions issued during the 88th meeting of CAMHR’s Executive Office. Leading the Kingdom's delegation at the meeting was Abdul Rahman bin Abdullah Al-Taweel, the Deputy Minister for Stimulating Housing Supply and Real Estate Development.

CAMHR highlighted during its 40th meeting the e executive plan of the Arab Strategy for Housing and Sustainable Urban Development, the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan, the Arab Housing Conference, and the Arab Ministerial Forum on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development. It also discussed cooperation with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), as well as with Arab, regional and international organizations, in addition to the relevant Arab unions, and partners of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Construction. The meeting also included presentations on prominent studies and experiences related to the rehabilitation of cities affected by conflicts, Arab lands under Israeli occupation, and natural disasters.

CAMHR expressed gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its prepared report and presentation on modern construction. The Council assigned the Secretariat to disseminate them to Arab countries for their benefit. The Council also voted on the logo design provided by the Kingdom for the Arab Housing Day 2024, titled "Humanizing Cities for Mental Well-being," among the logos submitted by member states.

It is worth mentioning that the Kingdom has made its voluntary contribution to the Unified Account for Specialized Ministerial Councils for the year 2023, reflecting its ongoing commitment to supporting joint efforts in achieving sustainable urban development in the Arab world.
