The Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing visits Finland and meets with a number of officials to discuss ways of cooperation.

His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, met today with a number of ministers and senior officials in the Republic of Finland during his official visit to the country, which will last for two days.

His Excellency toured the Finnish city of Espoo, during which he met with members of the city council, which is famous for being a hub for major Finnish companies, especially in the field of technology.

Al-Haqil also visited the Ministry of Transport and Communications, where he met with His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr. Tommi Haraka. The two sides discussed the exchange of experiences and expertise, the most prominent challenges in common areas, and ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries. His Excellency also met with representatives of the Finnish Innovation Fund “Sitra” and the Finnish Institute for the Environment “Sik”.

As part of the agenda for the first day, His Excellency headed to the headquarters of the Finnish Ministry of the Environment, where he met with Her Excellency the Deputy Minister of the Environment, Ms. Terhi Latonen. The two sides reviewed the experiences of the two countries in the field of the environment and the possibility of benefiting from the experiences and working to strengthen cooperation and build strategic partnerships that contribute to serving the common interests between the two countries.

Al-Haqil also met with the Minister of Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade of Finland, Mr. Ville Skinnari, as part of developing Saudi-Finnish relations in the field of foreign trade. He then met with the State Secretary of the Ministry of International Trade, Ms. Nina Vaskonlahti, and during the meeting, the importance of the existing relations between the two countries was emphasized.
