The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing launched the second edition of the "Saudi Arabia Goodness 2026" initiative, which is held during the holy month of Ramadan, in partnership with the regional secretariats, as part of the efforts of the team supporting, developing and empowering street vendors in the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing to organize the activity of street vendors and empower them, and to provide approved sales locations that contribute to raising the quality of practice and improving the visitor experience, in order to enhance the objectives of improving the urban landscape and quality of life in the cities of the Kingdom.

The ministry explained that the initiative will start with five locations in each municipality, with a target of reaching 350 sales outlets in each municipality, with at least two locations in each municipality allocated to the sustainability track, which will ensure the continued operation of these locations after the end of Ramadan, and will enhance the transition of the initiative from a seasonal activity to an organized model that is expandable and sustainable.

The ministry explained that the second version is based on organizing sales sites according to clear requirements and unified operating standards, which contribute to raising the level of compliance within approved sites, enhancing safety for sellers and visitors, in addition to applying continuous field monitoring to ensure compliance with regulatory and health requirements.

The ministry affirmed that the initiative contributes to enhancing the civilized image of licensed stalls as an organized model that reflects the identity of cities and improves the general landscape, by unifying the elements of visual identity within the sites while taking into account the local privacy of each region, which provides more sustainable economic opportunities for participants, and opens a gradual path to transition from unregulated activities to formal practice within clear regulatory frameworks, which is reflected in income stability, improved service quality, and enhanced reliability of the experience.

The ministry indicated that the selection of initiative sites is based on criteria related to the vitality of the place and its suitability to the population density, its proximity to public destinations such as parks, public squares and waterfronts, and the availability of basic services, with the possibility of long-term organization in a way that achieves smooth movement and clear operational and monitoring routes. The selection of participants also takes into account meeting regulatory and health requirements, clearly defining the activity, and raising the level of commitment.

It is worth mentioning that the first edition of the “Saudi Arabia Goodness 2025” initiative witnessed the participation of 1,732 vendors, and received about 814,000 visitors, in addition to achieving a sustainability rate of 30% after the end of the initiative, and recording satisfaction levels that reached 90% among participants and visitors, which reflects its economic and social impact, and supports the Ministry’s direction towards developing an organized and sustainable model to empower street vendors in various regions of the Kingdom.
