The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, represented by the Holy Capital Municipality, continued to implement environmental control and sanitation works in Makkah and the Holy Sites as part of its operational plans for the Hajj season of 1447 AH, within the framework of field efforts aimed at enhancing public safety and maintaining a healthy environment in the sites visited by the guests of God.

The ministry explained that the field teams of the Holy Capital Municipality carried out environmental control and treatment work in more than (46) thousand sites within Makkah and the Holy Sites, as part of ongoing field programs aimed at reducing the causes of pollution and raising the level of environmental readiness during the peak of the season.

She indicated that the total liquid materials used in the control work exceeded (9) thousand liters, while the total solid materials used amounted to about (944) kilograms, which were employed through operational plans distributed to the targeted sites according to the needs of each region and its operational density.

The Holy Sites recorded the highest percentage of control work compared to Makkah Al-Mukarramah, as the amount of liquid materials used in the Holy Sites exceeded (5) thousand liters, in addition to more than (582) kilograms of solid materials, while the field teams inside Makkah Al-Mukarramah used more than (3900) liters of liquid materials, in addition to more than (362) kilograms of solid materials.

The ministry noted that environmental control and sanitation work is carried out through specialized teams and field mechanisms supported by modern equipment, cleaning trucks, spraying and treatment devices, which contributes to raising the efficiency of field performance and achieving a rapid response in various locations.

These efforts are an extension of the integrated municipal services system implemented by the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing during the Hajj season, which in recent days has included cleaning and preparing the holy sites, handling field reports, monitoring service sites, in addition to intensifying health control and environmental sanitation, with the aim of providing a safe and healthy environment for the pilgrims.

The ministry affirmed the continuation of its operational and field plans around the clock, within the integration of government agencies participating in serving pilgrims, reflecting the high level of readiness to provide the best services in the Holy City and the Holy Sites.
