The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, represented by the Holy Capital Municipality, intensified its development work during 2025 to improve the urban landscape and raise the efficiency of the infrastructure, as it completed the rehabilitation and humanization of more than one million square meters of roads, as part of comprehensive efforts aimed at enhancing traffic safety and improving the quality of life in the Holy Capital.

The projects included the paving of over 70,000 linear meters of new roads, in addition to the rehabilitation of existing roads, the improvement of sidewalks and pedestrian walkways, and the addressing of visual pollution, all of which contribute to smoother traffic flow and an enhanced overall appearance. The municipality also recovered land valued at over 10 billion riyals as part of its efforts to protect public property and address encroachments in accordance with regulations.

On the side of environmental sustainability, the Secretariat planted more than 376,000 trees to support increasing vegetation cover and improving air quality and the urban landscape, which contributed to reducing the percentage of visual pollution related to waste in priority areas by 71%, in addition to reducing the percentage of visual pollution in priority areas by 55%, as a result of intensifying field campaigns, cleaning work and regulatory treatments.

Regarding municipal services, the Secretariat continued to develop the digital services system and improve performance efficiency; it provided more than 340 municipal services through the "Baladi" platform and available channels, which enhances access to services and speeds up the completion of transactions.

The satisfaction rate among beneficiaries regarding closed reports reached 88%, while the percentage of completed reports reached 95%, reflecting the efficiency of the reporting system and the speed of response. The Secretariat also achieved 100% in its targets for local content and government procurement, and recorded an 85% improvement in the time required to process appeals against violations.

These achievements fall within an integrated system of municipal initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency of services and creating an organized and safe urban environment that keeps pace with the status of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and contributes to improving the experience of residents and visitors.

His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Haqil, inspected the preparations of the Holy Capital Municipality in Makkah the day before yesterday, and reviewed its efforts in serving the guests of God and following up on the progress of projects in the field, in order to enhance the levels of readiness and raise the efficiency of services, especially during the holy month of Ramadan .
