The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, represented by the municipalities of (the Holy Capital, Madinah, Jeddah and Taif), revealed that it carried out more than 20,000 field inspection tours during the first ten days of the holy month of Ramadan, as part of its seasonal operational plans aimed at enhancing compliance with municipal and health requirements, and raising the level of quality of services provided to pilgrims, visitors and those heading to the Two Holy Mosques.

The ministry explained that the tours included food, commercial and health establishments, including restaurants, cafes, commercial markets, pharmacies and health care facilities, where the field teams focused on verifying compliance with public health and safety requirements, the safety of handling and storing food products, and ensuring the validity of regulatory licenses, which contributes to protecting consumer health and enhancing the reliability of services in high-density areas.

She explained that the monitoring work was carried out according to a smart monitoring methodology that relies on electronic systems to monitor and address violations immediately, and to link reports to clear escalation paths that ensure a rapid response and address observations, which enhances the efficiency of field performance and raises the level of commitment among establishments.

The ministry confirmed that monitoring campaigns will continue throughout the month of Ramadan, with intensified efforts in the central area and high-traffic locations, to ensure the sustainability of a healthy and safe environment and to improve the experience of pilgrims, in line with quality of life objectives.

These efforts come within the framework of promoting municipal compliance as a tool to raise the quality of services, enhance confidence in the municipal system, and demonstrate the integration between preventive control, awareness and systematic treatment, reflecting the Ministry’s commitment to its regulatory and service role in supporting the readiness of the holy cities during high-density seasons, and achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in more efficient, higher quality and more sustainable cities.
