The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing and the King Khalid Foundation signed a bilateral memorandum of understanding at the Ministry's headquarters today, with the aim of raising the level of cooperation in the field of urban planning, in order to achieve the objectives between the two parties and help to facilitate procedures in areas of joint work.
The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing was represented in signing the memorandum by His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Ehab bin Ghazi Hashani, while the King Khalid Foundation was represented by Her Highness Princess Nouf bint Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Saud, the Foundation’s CEO.
The memorandum of understanding aims to raise the level of cooperation between the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing and the King Khalid Foundation, and to enhance cooperation in the field of urban planning within the jurisdiction of both parties. The agreement also allows the Foundation to participate in translating social dimension policies within the national urban strategy and regional and local plans, in addition to coordinating between the Ministry’s National Urban Observatory and the Foundation with regard to urban indicators and studies.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing has adopted a participatory approach with all entities and sectors that have a direct impact on urban development in order to address the challenges facing the development of Saudi cities, which contributes to coordinating efforts, accelerating the implementation of projects and maximizing their gains in order to achieve the goals of more distinguished Saudi cities, quality of life, competitiveness and urban sustainability.
