The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing has given investors who own shops selling liquefied petroleum gas cylinders 60 days to correct their situation. The deadline for following the updated regulations ends on 5/15/1444 AH, and the updated regulations will be implemented after the deadline ends.

Among the most prominent things included in the updated executive regulations is the placement of a sign showing the prices of gas cylinders of all types and sizes, as well as the placement of an external sign for the shop in accordance with the requirements of commercial signs, in addition to allowing the sale of cylinders in self-service vending machines or in cages in the external courtyards within an area designated for this activity in central markets, without the general appearance of these cages causing visual distortion, by using high-quality cages.

The regulations included requirements related to the shop, equipment and operation, through which the reception area and safety requirements in dealing with cylinders are taken into account, by placing the cylinders vertically with their valves facing upwards, with the locations of empty and filled cylinders being identified, and taking care not to "roll" or pull the cylinder, while providing a small cart to transport the cylinders.

The regulations require gas retailers to ensure that gas cylinders intended for sale are clean and free of accumulated dirt that is difficult to clean. They also require that the storage area for (filled) gas cylinders be shaded with fire-resistant materials.
