The Ministry of Municipality and Housing concludes its participation in the (39) session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Reconstruction and the accompanying conference and exhibition.

The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing concluded its participation in the (39) session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Reconstruction, whose delegation was headed by His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, which is being hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The Kingdom also participated in the work of the Seventh Arab Housing Conference, which was hosted by Cairo under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on the sidelines of the (39) session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Reconstruction.

During his participation in the Arab Ministerial Council, His Excellency affirmed the Kingdom’s keenness, represented by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, to keep pace with progress and adopt everything that helps in providing housing services that meet the aspirations of our people. He added that these meetings represent an opportunity to enhance integration and exchange experiences among Arab brothers, to achieve the desired goals in providing sustainable housing products that achieve a quality of life for residents.

His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing also visited the Ministry’s pavilion participating in the exhibition held on the sidelines of the conference, which included the Housing Support Agency, Baladi, the Urban Planning and Real Estate Development Agency, in addition to the National Housing Company.

During the 39th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Reconstruction, His Excellency met with His Excellency Dr. Assem El-Gazzar, Egyptian Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, and His Excellency Ammar Al-Ajmi, Kuwaiti Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs and Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development. They discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the Kingdom and the two brotherly countries in the fields of housing, construction and infrastructure, and to facilitate the exchange of experiences, available opportunities and the possibility of benefiting from successful experiences in this field.

It is worth mentioning that the Kingdom participated in the work of the session, the conference and the accompanying exhibition, which lasted for two days, with a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing and the National Housing Company, to convey the Saudi experience in establishing urban communities through which it preserves the heritage and urban identity of each city, in accordance with a modern residential environment. The conference also aims to enhance countries’ commitments towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, by highlighting the best practices and experiences of smart cities, in order to improve the quality of life for Arab countries. The conference, through its dialogue sessions, discussed ways to advance this vital sector, especially in light of the technological developments and the economic, social and environmental changes that the world is witnessing.
