The Ministry of Municipality and Housing qualifies more than 3,000 real estate developers through "Business Accelerator Agreements"
The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing revealed that it has qualified more than 3,000 real estate developers by signing several agreements with business accelerators to develop programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing the capabilities of real estate developers, within the framework of joint efforts by a number of government bodies and agencies participating in the Coordinating Committee for the Development of the Contracting Sector.
The initiative includes providing various means of support, "administrative, operational and others", through business accelerators that enable real estate developers to succeed in completing their projects, which will positively impact the increase in housing supply in the Kingdom, the increase in the number of real estate development facilities, the development of the capabilities of real estate developers, and the improvement of the efficiency of the real estate development market.
This initiative is part of a series of initiatives through which the Ministry participated in the work of the Coordinating Committee for the Development of the Contracting Sector, in order to advance this vital sector, in order to achieve the objectives of Vision 2030 by increasing job opportunities and raising the percentage of this sector’s contribution to the gross domestic product.
It is worth mentioning that the Coordinating Committee for the Development of the Contracting Sector includes the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the Ministry of Investment, the Ministry of Economy and Planning, the Government Spending and Projects Efficiency Authority, the Saudi Contractors Authority, and the Saudi Council of Engineers.
The Coordinating Committee, chaired by His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, is working to develop the work of the contracting sector to enhance the national economy through 20 initiatives, which government agencies are seeking to implement, with the aim of reducing commercial disputes and conflicts in the sector, raising the capabilities of contractors and real estate developers, raising transparency and combating commercial concealment in the contracting sector, developing the work of contractors from individual work to institutional work, in addition to developing policies to ensure the equality of the capabilities of contractors with the projects offered in fair competitions.
