The Ministry of Municipality and Housing and the SABIC Employees' Charitable Fund sign an agreement to support developmental housing.
The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, represented by the Housing Supply Stimulation and Real Estate Development Agency, signed an agreement with the SABIC Employees Charitable Fund Foundation “Birr”, affiliated with SABIC Steel Company, under which the Fund will provide support for developmental housing projects, under the patronage of His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Engineer Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Budair, and in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing for the Housing Supply Stimulation and Real Estate Development Agency, Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Tawil.
The agreement, which was signed in Riyadh today, was signed by the General Supervisor of Developmental Housing Works at the Real Estate Development Agency, Engineer Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Dakhil, while on behalf of the Fund it was signed by the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mubarak bin Abdullah Al-Haddaf, representing “Birr”.
Under the agreement, the SABIC Employees' Charitable Fund Foundation "Birr" will provide in-kind support of reinforcing steel for the benefit of the developmental housing projects of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, with a total value of up to 30 million riyals during the years 2023-2025, equivalent to 10 million riyals annually.
For his part, the General Supervisor of Developmental Housing Works at the Real Estate Development Agency praised the role played by the SABIC Employees Charitable Fund Foundation “Birr” in supporting charitable and benevolent works, indicating that the support provided by the Foundation will be used for the benefit of developmental housing projects, which provide housing for the most needy families in society who are covered by the care of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development “Social Security”.
Al-Dakhil explained that the Ministry, represented by the Developmental Housing Department, signed several agreements with governmental and private entities, non-profit sectors, and individual volunteers, as part of the third sector initiatives in the Ministry’s programs. Partnerships were also established with approximately 300 civil associations spread across all cities and governorates of the Kingdom, to undertake the tasks of communicating with and visiting families, helping them identify suitable housing, following up on delivery, and managing and operating housing units.
