MOMRAH, MHRSD and MOI celebrate the homeownership of 19,000 families within the Developmental Housing Program in 2023

The High Committee for Development Housing celebrated today the achievements of the Development Housing sector and the success story of integration and fruitful partnership between the Ministry of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, and the Ministry of Interior. This partnership contributed to enabling over 19,000 Saudi families, who are among the neediest, to own their homes during the year 2023, within integrated residential communities in various regions of the Kingdom.

The ceremony, held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, and His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Interior, Dr. Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al-Dawood, in the presence of several relevant entities in the housing system and the non-profit sector. The event showcased the achievements made during the past year, as well as the prominent solutions and facilities provided to the neediest families in order to enable them to own suitable housing.

The ceremony also highlighted the impact of effective partnerships with associations and the non-profit sector in providing services to beneficiary families in all regions of the Kingdom. It also addressed the support and empowerment programs provided within "Rawafed" Program and their role in serving families to become more effective in society through various qualifying and training programs.

The integrated efforts between partner organizations have resulted in enabling more than 400 charitable and private organizations to contribute to achieving the goals of development housing and enhancing the role of associations in providing suitable housing for the neediest families and transitioning them from the lease system to ownership. Associations are responsible for communication, visiting families, assisting them in identifying suitable housing, and overseeing the delivery, management, and operation of residential units. This has contributed to achieving social and economic stability for the beneficiaries.

In turn, Talal bin Mohammed Al-Khinaini, the Deputy Minister of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing for the Third Sector and Social Participation, praised the integrated partnership between the relevant parties. He emphasized that the state, with its great care and continuous follow-up, is dedicated to removing obstacles facing the neediest families by providing various services, most importantly the provision of suitable housing for them.

He added, "Partnership has yielded the achievements we are working towards, including the ownership of over 19,000 needy families' homes during the year 2023 in various cities and governorates. Our target for this year is to serve more than 25,000 families through ownership or lease agreements."

Al-Khinaini concluded his speech by expressing gratitude to the Council of Ministers for the decision issued in its session last Tuesday, which aims to increase the ownership rates of those eligible for housing support, enhance the sustainability of the Development Housing Program by providing additional housing units and diverse solutions that serve different segments. He pointed out that this decision will contribute to catalyzing the non-profit sector and increasing its contribution to achieving the goals and aspirations.

On his part, the Secretary-General of National Developmental Housing Foundation "Sakan", Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al-Kuraidis, praised the efforts made by the partner organizations in the High Committee for Development Housing, which contributed to enabling the neediest families to own their homes and provide family stability for them.

In his speech on behalf of the Association, Faisal bin Abdulrahman Al-Humaid, the General Manager of Nama Association, thanked the partners for their efforts in overcoming all the challenges facing the associations, enabling them to fulfill their role effectively. He looked forward to the continued support from the partner organizations to enable the needy to own their homes.

After that, Abdullah bin Murshid Al-Mubarak, the General Supervisor of the General Administration for Development Housing, and Aisha Mohammed Al-Shubaili, the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the "Ataa and Nama" Association, presented the efforts of "Rawafed" Initiative to serve the neediest families, which provided several programs to qualify the beneficiaries to be more effective in society.

The ceremony of the achievements of Development Housing in 2023 witnessed the signing of an agreement between the Deputy Ministry for the Third Sector and Social Participation and Annasban Security Services under the umbrella of "Rawafed" Initiative to provide 1,000 job opportunities for the families benefiting from the Development Housing Program.

The Ministry of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing continues its efforts with its partners in the government, private, and non-profit sectors to provide suitable housing and find necessary solutions to facilitate ownership for the neediest families through various options and diverse solutions. It also aims to enhance community participation in supporting the provision of housing for families through the "Jood Housing" platform, with the goal of achieving social security for them, and ultimately achieving the targets of the Housing Program by raising the ownership rate for Saudi families to 70% by 2030.
