The Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing is participating in the 'Urban October – The First Gulf Housing Week' Conference, which is taking place in Muscat, Oman, from October 29th to 31st. The conference is held under the slogan of “Resilience of the Urban Economy,” during the period 29-31 October, and under the patronage of the Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said.

MOMRAH will highlight several of the Kingdom's successful experiences in various urban sectors, such as urban renewal and its impact on economic activities in historic city centers, the role of developmental and cooperative housing associations in providing housing for citizens, developmental housing, the experience of the National Urban Observatory in enabling sustainable urban development and enhancing local urban monitoring, urban and spatial planning, and developing partnerships with the private sector in housing projects.

Held under the theme of 'Better City, Better Life', the conference coincides with the United Nations 'Urban October' activities, which include World Habitat Day, World Cities Day, and World Architecture Day with the aim of reviewing the most prominent modern and contemporary research and studies in the urban sectors.

 The conference aims to spread the culture of sustainable urban planning and flexible planning to build an urban economy that adapts to life changes easily and meets all the needs of individuals and communities. It will include over 22 dialogue sessions, participated by 35 universities and over 2000 specialists and experts, and address four key sectors: housing, urban planning, future school buildings and city resilience.
