The Agency for the Third Sector and Community Participation at the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing was awarded gold for the year 2023 in the UN Sustainable Development 2030 category for the Developmental Housing Initiative and the Arabia Corporate Social Responsibility Award in the Arab World for the year 2023 in the Large Governmental Organizations category in its 16th edition. The two awards were announced in two independent ceremonies.
MOMRAH’s awarding is based on the nomination of Awards Committee for 2023. The Agency for the Third Sector and Community Participation at the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing was nominated for Gulf Sustainability Award for the Developmental Housing Initiative. This is due to the compliance with standards of service quality, Ensuring the sustainability of Developmental Housing Initiative and development of the neediest families in the Kingdom.
The Awards Committee praised the Developmental Housing Initiative, its contribution to improving the quality of life for beneficiaries, and its endeavor to achieve sustainable business growth. Ministry representative Dr. Mohammed Al-Turaiqi received the two awards.
MOMRAH has achieved the Arabia CSR Awards in the category of "Large Government Institutions" through an initiative presented by it in the field of developmental housing. The initiative aims to find innovative solutions to enhance housing standards as a national priority and empower the third sector to establish housing associations and enable public and private support. Additionally, it focuses on creating digital transformation solutions to digitize housing operations, simplify procedures and developer requirements, and establish a comprehensive housing database. The award was received by Engineer Saif Al-Sahli on behalf of MOMRAH.
The "Gulf Sustainability Award" is one of the most important international awards presented by the United Nations in the field of developmental housing and community development. the Arabia CSR Awards in the category of "Large Government Institutions" was established in 2008 due to the Arab world's need for initiatives related to social responsibility. This year, 12 Arab countries represented 35 sectors participated in the award.
It is worth mentioning that MOMRAH has received several local, regional, and international awards in the fields of "municipalities", "housing", "community development," and "urban services." This is part of its efforts to achieve the targets and national programs within Vision 2030.
