The number of new residential units in Riyadh increased by 37% in June 2022 compared to the same period last year.

A report issued by the Business Intelligence and Decision Support Center at the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, concerning the completion index for new housing supply, revealed that the number of new housing units in Riyadh for the month of June of this year reached 4,826 housing units, an increase of 37% compared to the same period last year.

The report indicated that the average number of new housing units in Riyadh during the first half of this year reached 5,163 housing units per month, as the number of new units increased by 8% by the end of the first half of this year compared to the same period last year, 2021.

The report explained that the total number of new residential units in Riyadh in 2021 reached 61,314 units, an increase of 9% compared to 2020, with the index achieving its best performance in December 2021, in which the number of new units reached 6,681 units.

The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing seeks to meet the growing demand for housing by Saudi families by providing more housing options and solutions through the “Sakani” program, facilitating citizens’ access to suitable units, supporting real estate loans, enabling the purchase of ready-made units from the market, self-building for those who own land, and many other services that come within the framework of the Ministry’s endeavor to achieve the objectives of housing programs - one of the programs of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 - by raising the rate of homeownership for Saudi families to 70% by 2030.
