Riyadh hosts "MEFMA CONFEX" for Facility Management, with the participation of 10 government and private entities

The 11th edition of MEFMA CONFEX, organized by the Middle East Facility Management Association (MEFMA), kicks off under the theme "FM in the Digital Age – Embracing a Smart Future". The event takes place from October 15th to 16th, 2023, at the Al Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh, under the patronage of the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing (MOMRAH), and with the presence of His Excellency Mr. Ihab bin Ghazi Al-Hashani, the Deputy Minister.

MEFMA CONFEX discusses best practices and experiences in facility management in the current digital age, leveraging modern technologies in the management and raising awareness about the importance of the sector and its role in sustaining and extending the operational lifespan of facilities and mega-projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is in line with the digital transformation programs derived from the goals of Vision 2030.

MEFMA CONFEX brings together decision-makers in the facility management sector, along with government representatives, real estate developers, service providers, and suppliers at both local and regional levels. Participants include Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, General Authority for Real Estate, Expenditure and Project Efficiency Authority (EXPRO), Riyadh Chamber of Commerce, National Committee at the Federation of Saudi Chambers, in addition to the Middle East Facility Management Association, Saudi Facilities Management Company, and Oud Real Estate Company.

Jamal Lootah, the President of the Middle East Facility Management Association, affirmed that the region is witnessing significant acceleration in digital transformation processes across various sectors, particularly in the facility management sector. This is achieved through adoption of smart digital solutions and development of an integrated environment based on best practices in sustainable development, aiming to provide an advanced and prosperous technological environment for future generations in the region.

Lootah highlighted that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has become a unique global model in developing infrastructures and facilities and launching mega-projects derived from Vision 2030. The Kingdom has accelerated sustainable development through achievements that have transformed it into a global model in facility management. Lootah emphasized the importance of encouraging investment in smart solutions in the sector to meet societal needs and increase awareness in an environment rich in innovations and technologies.

 

MEFMA CONFEX includes a number of specialized sessions and workshops to discuss the most pressing issues in the facility management sector, including technology and data-driven facility management, the journey of the facility management sector towards achieving sustainability, and the sector's impact on the future and vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It also sheds light on the role of facility management in the leap of mega-projects in the Kingdom.
