Signing Two Agreements between Developmental Housing, SAKAN and Awqaf Al-Shakreen to Provide the Appropriate Housing for the Families in Dire Need

Developmental Housing Program has signed two tripartite agreements with the National Development Housing Foundation "Sakan" and Awqaf Al-Shakreen for Community Service," with the aim provide housing for the most vulnerable families who meet the criteria of the Developmental Housing Program, as well as eligible beneficiaries of housing support who are not qualified for housing financing. This initiative is under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail.

In signing the agreement for providing housing to most vulnerable families eligible for Developmental Housing Program's criteria, Developmental Housing Program was represented by Deputy Minister of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing for the Third Sector and Community Engagement, National Development Housing Foundation "Sakan" represented by the Secretary-General Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al-Kuraidis, and Awqaf Al-Shakreen  represented by Tarjam bin Salamah bin Saidan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

In signing the agreement for providing housing to the most vulnerable families who are eligible for housing support but not qualified for housing financing, Developmental Housing was represented the Deputy Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing for Stimulating Housing Supply and Real Estate Development, Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Tuwaijri, National Development Housing Foundation "Sakan" represented by the Secretary-General Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al-Kuraidis, and Awqaf Al-Shakreen  represented by the trustee Salamah bin Malhi bin Saedan.

Under the concluded agreements, the Developmental Housing Program is responsible for providing the necessary data about the beneficiaries and their needs, and distributing them across cities and governorates. "Sakan" Foundation undertakes the study, verification, and completion of procedures for delivering the housing units to the beneficiaries in accordance with the support criteria. Meanwhile, Awqaf Al-Shakreen, Mulhi bin Salamah bin Saidan and Brothers for Community Service is responsible for executing or purchasing the units according to the approved specifications and technical conditions, as well as contributing to the field study of the nominated beneficiaries for ownership.

This agreement comes as part of the efforts to achieve the goals of Vision 2030. It aims to create the necessary environment for the nonprofit sector to take the initiative in addressing challenges and seizing opportunities. Therefore, MOMRAH collaborates with the nonprofit sector to provide suitable housing support for the most vulnerable families, including beneficiaries of social security and similar programs. Additionally, the agreement aims to empower the nonprofit sector to be more effective in the housing sector, increasing its contribution to the GDP and supporting developmental housing projects in all regions and provinces.

MOMRAH aims to collaborate with nonprofit organizations to provide suitable housing for those in need who are unable to benefit from its financing programs. It seeks to find necessary solutions to facilitate homeownership for the most vulnerable families through diverse options and solutions. Additionally, MOMRAH aims to enhance community participation in supporting the provision of first homes for families through " Jood Eskan" platform, with aim to achieve social security for them. This is all part of achieving the targets of the Housing Program, one of the programs of Vision 2030, which aims to increase the homeownership rate for Saudi homeownership to 70% by 2030.
