The Sustainable Building Program recorded a remarkable increase in the number of technical reports on its services provided during the first half of 2022 compared to the same period last year, with an increase of more than 380% this year.
The program explained in a statementtoday that the services it provides include( Issuing technical inspection reports to ensure compliance with the Saudi Building Code, the requirements of the competent authorities for ready-made buildings and projects under construction, and the quality of contractors’ adherence to classification), as the number of reports issued during the first half of 2022 approached 3,500 reports.
The program offers a range of other services , such as the ( Construction Quality Inspection ) service , which enables the beneficiary who is about to build – whether real estate developers or individuals – to verify the quality and safety of construction processes through an inspection mechanism by certified inspection engineers . The residential unit receives a building quality certificate after its construction is completed and it has successfully passed all inspection stages. It also offers the ( Ready-Made Buildings Inspection ) service, which enables the beneficiary who wishes to buy or rent a building to verify its quality and safety through a visual inspection mechanism by certified engineers to detect apparent defects in ready-made buildings. Based on this inspection, a report is issued on the condition of the residential unit. In addition, there is the ( Contractors' Classification Compliance Quality Inspection ) service , which provides reports on the extent of the contractor's compliance with quality and safety standards and the preservation of the urban landscape, and contributes to classifying contractors to obtain quality projects. The report includes verification of safety requirements, site protection, environmental safety, and occupational health .
The Sustainable Building Program alsooffers aSustainability Assessment service that measures the sustainability of buildings and urban communities. This assessment is based on environmental standards that enhance building efficiency, improve the quality of life within the building, and reduce the environmental impact of construction waste and materials. It also aims to improve energy and water efficiency, enhance the quality of indoor living, improve household waste recycling management, promote a culture of sustainability and its application in the community, improve building operation management, reduce maintenance costs, and minimize indoor and outdoor pollution.
