The Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing for Housing Supply Stimulation and Real Estate Development, Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Tawil, revealed that Sakani Program aims to deliver around 30,000 housing units to Saudi families in the coming period. He explained that the program continues to hand over housing units on a daily basis across the Kingdom regions, thanks to strong partnerships with the private sector through Shrakat program, which helps provide a wide range of housing solutions and products that meet the needs of Saudi families at competitive, subsidized prices. This effort supports the goals of the Housing Program—one of Vision 2030 initiatives—to raise the homeownership rate to 70% by 2030.

Al-Tawil confirmed that some projects have already delivered all of their housing units to beneficiaries, while construction is ongoing for the remaining projects and units, with delivery planned after the completion of construction, utility connections, and handover of public facilities to concerned entities. He pointed out that these handovers are the result of years of continuous effort to provide the best housing options tailored to beneficiaries’ needs, emphasizing that the under-construction housing option preferred by most of Saudi families has proven highly effective and popular due to its variety of designs, sizes, locations, quality of life and attractive prices that align with beneficiaries’ aspirations.

He added that Sakani Program and the National Housing Company (NHC), in partnership with real estate developers and the private sector, are continuing to launch new residential projects aimed at offering additional products that contribute to increasing the real estate supply across various regions of the Kingdom in the coming period. In particular, the housing supply in Riyadh City, through the major residential suburbs currently under development, will include large and diverse numbers of housing units, which will help achieve a balance between supply and demand.

It is worth noting that Sakani Program handed over more than 1,500 housing units last week to Saudi families benefiting from the following projects: Ittilaat Al-Bahr in Al-Khobar, Lu’lu’at Al-Diyar in Yanbu, Al-Jawhara Buildings in Riyadh, and Wahat Al-Khamis in Khamis Mushait. This comes as part of the program’s commitment to deliver units to beneficiaries immediately upon completion, in line with the objectives of the Housing Program to increase the homeownership rate to 70% by 2030.

The Deputy Ministry of Municipalities and Housing for Stimulating Housing Supply and Real Estate Development had previously launched programs aimed at supporting and empowering real estate developers, and enabling contractors to become real estate developers. These initiatives aim to boost the housing supply in the Kingdom by offering a variety of services that contribute to capacity building and the provision of enablers and tools.
