The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing revealed that more than 5,000 diverse investment opportunities were offered in the Kingdom’s cities during the first half of 2022, as part of ongoing efforts to develop investments, raise the level of sustainability in cities, and diversify economic activity in them, in order to contribute to raising the quality of life and achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
The investment opportunities offered by the secretariats, municipalities and related entities included 1,810 commercial activities, 328 industrial activities, 72 social activities, 34 environmental activities, 29 educational activities, 198 sports and entertainment activities, 52 agricultural and animal activities, 101 tourism activities, 38 health activities, 15 construction and real estate management activities, 152 public services activities, 118 financial activities, 245 vehicle activities, 88 transportation activities, 15 maintenance, repair and installation activities, 40 public facilities activities, and two clothing and textile activities, in addition to offering more than 1,700 diverse sites for temporary activities.
The “Opportunities” portal aims to automate investment procedures with the secretariats, municipalities and related entities, so that it facilitates the procedures for offering, awarding and contracting, enhances the ability to obtain reports, and raises the efficiency and speed of operations and their tracking. The portal also enables the secretariats, municipalities and related entities to offer investment opportunities in various activities and locations, in addition to enabling investors to view these opportunities, review their information and locations, and submit an investment proposal to be studied and offered as a new investment opportunity through the portal.
The portal provides a search feature by specifying the secretariat or municipality, the investment location, or the type of activity, which helps the investor to make his investment decision accurately, transparently and effectively, with the least time and effort, without having to travel to the headquarters of the secretariats or municipalities to learn about the opportunities, and the contribution of investors to the development of cities and villages, which facilitates access to investment opportunities that are feasible and effective in building and developing the cities and villages of the Kingdom.
The Ministry called on investors and entrepreneurs who wish to view the details of investment opportunities to visit the municipal investment portal “Furas”https://furas.momra.gov.saor through the smartphone application and view the terms and specifications booklets and the possibility of purchasing them electronically, and know the dates of the end of purchase and opening of envelopes, and view the details of the opportunity and its location on the maps.
