Al-Haqil: On the anniversary of the nation's founding... a long journey of progress and development

His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, extended his sincere congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God protect them - and to all the Saudi people, on the occasion of the 92nd National Day of the Kingdom.

In a speech on this occasion, His Excellency said: “On this day, we recall the unification journey led by the founding King Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud, who laid the foundations of cohesion and national unity, united the ranks, and spread security, safety, and stability throughout our dear country, relying on God Almighty and following the guidance of His noble Prophet, so that our beloved Kingdom would be united under the banner of monotheism, and goodness would prevail in all regions, thus recording the heroic stances that were followed by his righteous sons, the kings who followed the right path, until the era of the leader of the development, progress, and construction journey, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Highness the Crown Prince, the trustworthy Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz - may God protect them - so that our dear Kingdom may enjoy stability, prosperity, and growth.”

Al-Haqil emphasized the high standing that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has attained among the ranks of all the world’s nations, noting the care and attention that the leadership gives to the municipal and housing sectors in the Kingdom, which has contributed to their development, and brought about a qualitative shift in the application of smart city concepts, digital transformation in receiving and implementing beneficiaries’ requests, improving the quality of services provided to residents, and enhancing the quality of life.

He pointed to the ongoing efforts made by the Ministry at the level of various services, including organizing 15 pivotal initiatives in the municipal sector to provide investment opportunities that contribute to raising the contribution of the private sector in the development of cities in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. Among the most prominent of these initiatives are the development of products that increase the attractiveness of investment in integration with development funds, mechanisms for developing and operating parks in partnership with the private sector, and providing incentives to attract investments to less developed cities, in addition to launching the smart cities strategy for the municipal and residential sector, which includes launching more than 50 initiatives in 9 areas by 2030 with the aim of transforming the services provided into smart services through the use of digital technologies, Internet of Things technologies, and providing services that enhance economic prosperity and environmental sustainability, and effective government supervision.

Regarding the Ministry’s efforts to enable Saudi families to own homes, Al-Haqil emphasized facilitating families’ ownership of their first home and increasing housing support options to include (the support package, the rental package, the home furnishings package, the self-build package, and the home renovation package), which served more than 640,000 beneficiaries, in addition to the regulations and legislation introduced by the Ministry, which contributed to enhancing the size of the real estate supply and achieving the optimal balance between supply and demand in the housing market, and organizing and facilitating a balanced and sustainable housing environment, in addition to signing several agreements with banks, financing institutions, and real estate developers.
