The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing announced that commercial establishments are required to issue professional licenses for workers in 40 commercial activities supervised by the municipal sector, starting from June 1, 2023, noting that commercial establishments can issue professional licenses for workers through the "Baladi" platform.
The ministry explained that the professional license for workers is one of the basic requirements for practicing craft professions and issuing and renewing commercial licenses for establishments, stressing the obligation to have at least one professionally licensed worker - in the first stage - by verifying the existence of the scientific qualification or experience and skills necessary to perform their work with high efficiency, and to provide craft services according to the highest quality standards.
The Ministry called on owners of commercial establishments to expedite the issuance of the craft license for workers through the Balady platform by visiting the linkhttps://balady.gov.sa/en/services/issuance-new-craft-license;so that the renewal of commercial licenses for their establishments is not stopped, after fulfilling the necessary requirements for issuing the license.
The professional license gives commercial establishments a competitive advantage that enhances customer confidence, especially since the license contributes to securing protection for beneficiaries in a number of professions and compensating them in the event of damage to the products or services provided. It also qualifies workers to obtain a professional examination certificate from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in (81) professions.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing is undergoing a comprehensive digital transformation at the level of municipal and housing services, as part of its efforts to achieve the strategic objectives of the municipal and housing sectors through the development of a sustainable digital system that provides leading services for smart and innovative digital cities that contribute to improving the quality of life.
