Idle Lands Program warns approaching deadline for payment of fee invoices for second round in Riyadh

The Idle Lands Program has warned against the approaching deadline for the payment of the invoices for undeveloped land fees for the second round in Riyadh. The program also urged landowners to pay the invoice fees before the deadline expires on August 4, 2023.

Failure to pay the invoices within the set deadline will entail a fine that reaches up to 100% of the fee value, in addition to the original fees, the program stated. Landowners can review their invoices via the Idle Lands Program portal idlelands.housing.gov.sa and pay them within the 20-day grace period. Plots of lands owned by multiple parties but in one deed shall be subject to the fees in accordance with each partner's share. Disbursements collected from fees and fines shall be given for housing projects, the delivery of public facilities, and the provision of public services therein, in accordance with Article 15 of the Implementing Regulations of Idle Land Fees Law.

The Program allows beneficiaries to inquire about any outstanding fee on any idle land plot, by deed number only on the Idle Lands Program website. Through the fees, the program seeks to increase the real estate supply of developed lands, establish a supply-demand balance, reduce monopoly, and provide residential lands at affordable prices.

The first phase of land fees is applied to undeveloped lands with a minimum area of 10,000 sqm; while the second phase applies to developed lands with a minimum area of 10,000 sqm, in addition to total land plots that belong to one owner with a minimum area of area of 10,000 sqm, in one approved scheme.
