Minister of Municipalities and Housing sponsors the closing ceremony to honor the winners of the Basmat Baladi Award

His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majed bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, today sponsored the closing ceremony to honor the winners of the "Basmat Baladi" award organized by The Housing Development Agency. The award aims to encourage innovations and individual and institutional initiatives to improve the urban landscape in public facilities across various cities in the Kingdom.

The award witnessed numerous entries from individuals and institutions in both the private and non-profit sectors, as well as from municipalities. Participants presented many innovative solutions and initiatives to develop and enhance the urban environment of public facilities in cities and provinces across the Kingdom, promote community participation, and find solutions that contribute to the aesthetic appeal of cities, thereby achieving an economic impact on the regions.

The Deputy Minister for Developmental Housing, Talal bin Mohammed Alkhnaini, stated, "Basmat Baladi award reflects the importance of integration among community members and various sectors to enhance the sustainability of Saudi cities, improve the quality of life, increase satisfaction with public services and facilities, and enhance the urban landscape."

Alkhnaini added that the award contributes to creating sustainable solutions and encourages positive behaviors to address environmental challenges by promoting sustainable practices, adopting cultural standards, and raising community awareness. He emphasized the importance of activating the developmental role of community participation to create positive impacts on cities and their residents.

It is noteworthy that the "Basmat Baladi" award, launched by the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing in May, aims to make a clear impact in building a better future for the Saudi community and to motivate innovators to contribute their ideas to enhance the urban landscape of public facilities in various cities, in line with the objectives of the Quality of Life Program—one of Vision 2030 initiatives.
