Ministry of Municipalities and Housing: Signing 9 partnership agreements and memoranda of cooperation to renovate and furnish 200 homes for the neediest families

Today, the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing announced signing of nine partnership agreements and memorandums of cooperation between the Ministry, represented by the Housing Development Agency, ROSHN Group, and Tarmeem Charity. This initiative aims to enhance collaboration and partnership between the private and non-profit sectors in renovating and furnishing 200 homes for the most in-need families in seven regions across the Kingdom, under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majed bin Abdullah Al-Hogail.

The agreements were signed by the Deputy Minister for Developmental Housing, Talal bin Mohammed Alkhnaini, the acting Executive Director of ROSHN Group, Dr. Khalid Jawhar, and the Chairman of Tarmeem Charity, Engineer Mohammed Thawab Al-Khalidi, in the presence of several Ministry officials and representatives from ROSHN Group and housing restoration associations.

These agreements come as part of the Ministry’s commitment to enhance partnerships and integrate efforts between the development housing sector and the private and non-profit sectors. The goal is to enable the most in-need families to obtain suitable housing and increase the homeownership rate among beneficiaries of development housing services, thus achieving the objectives of the Housing Program—one of Vision 2030 initiatives—by raising the homeownership rate to 70%.

The agreements included a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry's Housing Developmental Agency and Tarmeem Charity, under which the Charity will be recognized as an expert house for the Ministry. This will empower specialized restoration and housing associations that provide restoration services across the Kingdom by supplying them with a restoration system, guides, and policies. The agreement aims to renovate 100 homes in seven regions of the Kingdom.

Additionally, ROSHN Group signed a community partnership agreement with Tarmeem Charity to cover the costs of renovating and furnishing 100 homes for the most in-need families, as part of the ROSHN Group’s social responsibility program "Yahyeek." This collaboration will also work towards improving the quality of restoration and furnishing while optimizing costs.

Furthermore, Tarmeem Charity signed six additional cooperation agreements with (Tarmeem Charity for Development in Makkah, Al-Omran Development Charity in Al-Baha, Nuzul Charity in the Northern Borders, Manazil Charity in Asir, Hail Housing Association for Charity, and Tarmeem and Al Arbita Association in Medina) to renovate and furnish 175 homes, allocating 25 homes for each region.

Under these agreements, the restoration associations in the regions will identify the homes eligible for restoration and evacuate families and belongings from them to begin the renovation processes. They will also provide alternative housing for the beneficiary families before starting the project. Tarmeem Charity will oversee the renovation and furnishing projects for the homes and pay the contract costs.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing aims through these agreements to support and empower restoration associations and housing associations that provide restoration services across the Kingdom, and to activate community partnerships between the private and non-profit sectors to renovate and furnish homes for the most in-need families, ultimately aiming to achieve family stability and provide suitable housing for them.
