The Kingdom participates in the 41st session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Reconstruction in Algeria

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participated in the work of the 41st session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Reconstruction, which is being held in sisterly Algeria under the patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, during the period from December 17 to 19, in conjunction with the holding of the eighth Arab Housing Conference, which comes under the title : “Sustainable Urban Development: Challenges and Promising Hopes”. The Saudi delegation is headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing for Stimulating Housing Supply and Real Estate Development, Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Tawil. This session is an opportunity to exchange experiences and enhance cooperation between Arab countries in the fields of housing and urban development. The agenda of the 41st session held in Algeria includes the Arab Strategic Implementation Plan for Housing and Urban Development, new urban trends, the importance of global sustainable development, and strengthening Arab cooperation in the fields of housing and reconstruction, in order to contribute to meeting the needs of citizens and developing infrastructure in Arab countries. The conference highlights ways to advance sustainable urban planning and construction policies, mechanisms for developing urban planning to build resilient and safe cities capable of resilience and sustainability, in addition to the importance of green buildings, best practices and experiences that would achieve sustainable development and quality of life, and setting standards for decent housing to meet the needs of different segments of Arab societies. The poster chosen for the 2025 Arab Housing Day logo, submitted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is titled Rebuilding Affected Communities: Building a Better Future , which reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to rebuilding affected communities and enhancing their ability to recover and grow. The Kingdom achieved third place in the Arab Ministers of Housing and Reconstruction Council Award for 2024 for the Bouvardia City” project, which is located in Jeddah Governorate, in partnership with the Emirati residential neighborhood project in the United Arab Emirates. It is worth noting that the work of the 41st session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Reconstruction comes in line with the directions of the United Nations program to develop a strategy for housing and sustainable urban development for the year 2030, and the Sustainable Development Goals to make cities and human settlements inclusive and sustainable, which were approved by the League of Arab States at the thirtieth session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Reconstruction.
