The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, in cooperation with the National Center for Privatization, announced the start of the expression of interest phase for the project to privatize the management of municipal laboratories in five municipalities, namely (Al-Jawf Municipality, the Eastern Province Municipality, the Northern Borders Region Municipality, Al-Qassim Region Municipality, and Jeddah Governorate Municipality), with the aim of strengthening the partnership between the government sector and the private sector in raising the efficiency of municipal laboratory services in the Kingdom.The ministry explained in a press statement today that the municipal laboratories targeted for privatization include three types of laboratories: food safety laboratories, materials quality laboratories, and environmental sanitation laboratories. The project aims to enhance public safety by raising the quality and efficiency of municipal laboratories and providing sufficient and accurate tests for food, water, and building materials.She indicated that the scope of the project will include equipping the laboratories with the necessary new materials and equipment, operating and maintaining the laboratories throughout the contract period, in addition to meeting the Secretariat's request for its needs in analyzing samples and transferring the laboratories back to the Secretariats at the end of the contract.The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing and the National Center for Privatization invited all interested companies and developers to submit their applications electronically before December 15, 2024, via emailto PPP@MOMAH.GOV.SA.
