MOMAH Issues Updated Guidelines for Recreational Facility Requirements

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has issued the updated guidelines for recreational facility requirements, as part of its ongoing efforts to improve service quality, facilitate investor access to the recreational facilities sector, and enhance visitor safety while safeguarding the rights of all relevant parties.

The Ministry clarified that the guidelines apply to all recreational facilities except for venues such as theaters and cinemas. The updated requirements aim to improve the business environment, encourage investment, and ensure compliance with the Saudi Building Code during construction activities.

The new requirements include a set of conditions related to spatial aspects, such as location and area, compatible and additional activities, and commercial signage requirements. They also cover architectural standards, facade design, overall appearance, and other technical and operational requirements. These updates aim to enhance the user experience and ensure the delivery of integrated recreational services that meet community expectations and uphold the highest standards of quality and safety.
