The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing confirmed the importance of community participation in reporting vehicle violations that cause visual distortion of the urban landscape, monitoring such violations, and enhancing partnerships with relevant authorities to address elements of visual distortion and improve the urban environment in cities across the Kingdom.

The Ministry clarified that the targeted violations include littering in undesignated areas, as well as the leakage of oil, water, or construction materials from transport vehicles, which result in environmental damage and visual distortion that affect the quality of life.
The Ministry indicated that these efforts are an extension of the Visual Distortion Treatment Works Support Committee initiative, “More Beautiful Cities,” which works in cooperation with municipalities, local authorities, and various related entities to implement phased plans aimed at improving the urban landscape, enhancing the aesthetic identity of cities, and raising quality-of-life standards, with the goal of improving public cleanliness and reducing irregular behaviors in roads and public facilities.

The Ministry has enabled the “Capture and Report” service through “Balady” and “Tawakkalna” applications to facilitate the documentation of violations by individuals, allowing them to photograph violations without endangering themselves or others, in accordance with traffic safety guidelines.

It highlighted the role of its inspection teams, as well as those of regional municipalities and local branches, in addressing all manifestations of visual distortion, improving the urban landscape, and swiftly responding to reports and observations submitted by community members.

These measures are part of broader efforts to raise community awareness and achieve a more disciplined and cleaner urban environment. Guidelines on how to report violations can be found at the following link: https://bit.ly/3U9FjCR.
