Municipalities and Housing conclude 2024 with significant achievements and figures that enhance the quality of services in Saudi cities.

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing revealed the most prominent achievements and figures that were achieved in the municipal and housing sectors during the year 2024, within the framework of its continuous efforts to improve the quality of municipal and housing services and improve the quality of life in Saudi cities and provide an integrated urban environment that meets the aspirations of Saudi society in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 .

The Ministry explained in a press statement today that the housing and real estate sector achieved a number of figures that contributed to enhancing the sector’s growth, increasing the real estate supply, and providing more housing units. Approximately 70,000 new housing units were offered in 163 projects within integrated residential complexes with facilities and services through the Ministry’s executive arm, “NHC” . The number of housing units delivered reached approximately 23,000 housing units in 2024, with a growth rate of 33% compared to 2023 .

She noted that more than 117,000 Saudi families benefited from the solutions and options of the Sakani program during the past year, with a growth rate of 9% compared to 2023, in addition to more than 21,000 families owning homes through the developmental housing program during 2024, with a growth rate of 24% compared to the previous year .

Regarding financing contracts, the Ministry explained that the total number of supported financing contracts for beneficiaries of the Sakani program for the year 2024 reached about 93,000 financing contracts during the same year, with a growth rate of about 15% compared to the previous year, as support was deposited for the program beneficiaries with a total value of more than 11.9 billion Saudi riyals .

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing revealed in its statement that more than 406,000 licenses were issued through the “Baladi” application, including 130,000 commercial licenses and 276,000 construction licenses. The number of health certificates issued during the year 2024 amounted to more than 811,000 health certificates, while the total number of building compliance certificates reached approximately 100,000 certificates in various regions of the Kingdom .

She noted the continued efforts to humanize cities and improve the urban landscape to enhance the quality of life in Saudi cities, as the Ministry launched the second phase of the Bahja project, which included the establishment and implementation of 357 parks and urban interventions in neighborhoods and residential communities, with the aim of providing large green spaces for recreational activities and increasing the per capita share of green spaces .

In the digital solutions and smart municipalities sector, the Ministry employed modern technology and artificial intelligence techniques to address visual distortions by capturing nearly 14 million images via the “Baladi Lens”, in addition to processing nearly 1.2 million reports of visual distortions through the municipalities in various regions of the Kingdom, in addition to nearly 500,000 beneficiaries benefiting from “Baladi Lifestyle” services since the beginning of 2024 .

The Ministry indicated that the White Land Fees Program recorded remarkable growth in increasing the real estate supply by more than 160 million square meters in various regions of the Kingdom, as the areas of land that have been developed exceeded 75 million square meters, while the areas of land under development amounted to more than 48 million square meters. Part of the fees revenues was allocated to developing the infrastructure for residential projects, as more than 2.7 billion riyals were spent on developing and preparing the infrastructure in more than 100 residential projects until the end of 2024 .

During the past year, the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing continued its efforts to attract investors and promote investment opportunities in the municipal and real estate sector, as the volume of investment opportunities offered through the Furs platform amounted to more than 14,000 investment opportunities with a value exceeding 4 billion riyals .

The municipalities and housing system continues its efforts during this year to improve the quality of services provided to residents and visitors, as part of its commitment and ongoing work to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 .
