His Excellency Majed bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipalities and Housing, concluded his official visit to the State of Kuwait, during which he led the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s delegation at the 23rd Meeting of GCC Housing Ministers, attended by ministers of housing from the member states and His Excellency General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The meetings witnessed the adoption of several technical guidelines, most notably the “Value Engineering Guide for Housing Projects in the GCC,” developed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This step aims to enhance spending efficiency and improve the quality of outcomes in Gulf housing projects.

In a milestone reflecting the Kingdom’s leadership in sustainable urban development, the “Wajhat Al-Fursan” project won first place in the GCC Housing Award—an award granted to the best distinguished housing projects across the Gulf countries.

During the official ceremony, several entities supporting housing initiatives were honored, including the Sheikh Saleh bin Abdullah Kamel Humanitarian Foundation in the institutions category, and Mr. Suleiman bin Abdulqader Al-Muhaidib in the individuals category, in recognition of their impactful contributions to supporting the most vulnerable families and providing developmental housing solutions.

On the sidelines of the meetings, His Excellency Majed bin Abdullah Al-Hogail held a bilateral meeting with His Excellency Abdullatif Al Meshari, Minister of State for Housing Affairs and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs in Kuwait, during which they discussed areas of joint cooperation, mechanisms for exchanging expertise, and integration in developing housing and municipal policies.

As part of strengthening bilateral relations, two Memoranda of Understanding were signed in the fields of housing and municipal affairs between the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing in Saudi Arabia and both the Public Authority for Housing Welfare and the Kuwait Municipality, aimed at enhancing institutional partnership, elevating technical and knowledge exchange, and developing programs and initiatives of mutual interest.

The meetings concluded with the approval of the final version of the Unified Regulations for Owners of Joint Properties in the GCC, in preparation for submission to the Supreme Council at its upcoming session. This is part of ongoing efforts to regulate the real estate sector and strengthen governance and legislative integration among the member states.

This participation underscores the Kingdom’s commitment to advancing GCC housing cooperation pathways and fostering a collaborative approach that enhances quality of life and aligns with the goals of comprehensive development and Vision 2030.
