His Excellency Majed bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipalities and Housing, conducted an inspection today of several service facilities and field sites in the Holy Capital to assess the municipal sector’s readiness to provide services for pilgrims during the Hajj season 1446H. The visit was attended by His Excellency Eng. Musad bin Abdulaziz Aldaood, Mayor of the Holy Capital.
During the tour, His Excellency reviewed the operational preparedness of the emergency shelter centers overseen by the Ministry as part of an integrated system for handling emergency cases. These centers include over 10,000 tents, logistical and field support equipment, and trained emergency teams operating 24/7 in full coordination with relevant entities.
The tour also covered several key sites in Mina, Muzdalifah, and the Mu’aisem area, where His Excellency observed the level of readiness in areas such as public sanitation, health services, and technical support. He also reviewed the approved emergency and evacuation plans and immediate response mechanisms for exceptional cases, in coordination with the Civil Defense, security agencies, and other service entities.
Al-Hogail emphasized that this visit is in line with the directives of the wise leadership which prioritizes the service of pilgrims, ensuring that all capabilities are mobilized to guarantee their comfort and safety from the moment they arrive in the Holy Land until their departure after completing the Hajj rituals.
His Excellency highlighted that the Ministry has enhanced its coordination with various government agencies to ensure infrastructure readiness, improve municipal, health, and inspection services, and implement emergency and shelter plans to enable swift responses and ensure safety under all operational conditions.
These efforts fall within the Ministry’s comprehensive plan to support the Hajj ecosystem, in alignment with the goals of Vision 2030 to improve the quality of services provided to pilgrims and enable them to perform their rituals in a safe and organized environment that meets the aspirations of the leadership and the needs of the pilgrims.
