MOMAH has received a Global Excellence Award for its innovation “Balady Lens” during WSIS 2025 Summit

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has achieved a new international milestone by receiving an excellence award from the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) 2025 in the e-Government category for its technical innovation “Balady Lens.” The award was presented during the annual WSIS ceremony held in Geneva, Switzerland, after the project was selected from among hundreds of global entries.

This award is one of the most prestigious international awards overseen by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) under the United Nations, aimed at honoring innovative digital solutions that accelerate technological transformation and support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Balady Lens innovation leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to detect visual distortions in urban environments and provide accurate on-site images and data to support rapid decision-making by the concerned authorities. This contributes significantly to improving the urban landscape and the quality of life.

The project was ranked among the top 360 initiatives out of 973 nominated projects worldwide, reflecting the Kingdom’s significant advancement in adopting and utilizing modern technologies in government operations.

This achievement builds upon the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to support digital transformation, strengthen the global presence of national innovations, and establish impactful partnerships in the fields of technology and knowledge — all in alignment with the goals of Vision 2030.
