The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, represented by the Developmental Housing Agency, revealed that it continues its efforts to support eligible families and enable them to obtain suitable housing, as 3,770 housing units were provided to eligible families during the first half of this year in various regions of the Kingdom, continuing the efforts made to achieve the objectives of the Housing Program - one of the programs of Saudi Vision 2030 - to raise ownership rates and achieve housing stability . The ministry explained in a press statement today that these efforts come as a continuation of the achievements made during the past year, as the number of beneficiaries of ownership programs last year exceeded 21,000 families, which reflects the continuity of initiatives at a regular pace that contributes to improving the quality of life for the targeted groups . She indicated that during the same period, it succeeded in supporting 16,404 cases of people struggling to pay rent, in addition to the support provided to more than 50,000 cases of people struggling to pay rent during 2024, within integrated programs aimed at alleviating the living burdens on those in need. In terms of digital transformation and improving operational efficiency, the Ministry implemented 77,106 digital transactions through its electronic platform, while 6,681 field inspection tours were carried out on the residences of eligible beneficiaries, with the aim of improving the quality of services and ensuring compliance with approved operational standards . She noted that 159 development programs were implemented during the first half of this year, in cooperation with a number of non-profit organizations, within the framework of empowering beneficiaries and building their capacities, while the ministry implemented 300 development programs for eligible families during 2024 . In the context of supporting the non-profit sector, the Ministry, represented by the Developmental Housing Agency, explained that it supervised the establishment, empowerment and support of 50 new non-profit organizations during the first six months of 2025, in continuation of the efforts made to expand the scope of participation of the third sector, while the number of organizations established and empowered in 2024 reached about 400 organizations. The number of volunteers registered under the supervision of the Ministry during the first half of this year reached 171,595, compared to 262,000 volunteers in 2024, reflecting the growing community engagement and support for housing programs . It is worth noting that the “Developmental Housing” Agency, affiliated with the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, aims through its initiatives and programs to provide housing units for eligible families and to empower associations and institutions of the third sector, in continuation of its ongoing efforts to achieve the objectives of the Housing Program – one of the programs of Saudi Vision 2030 – to raise the rates of homeownership, empower those eligible and activate the role of the non-profit sector, in a way that contributes to building a cohesive society and a more efficient and sustainable housing system.
