The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing announced the launch of approximately 26,000 housing units under off-plan sales projects through “Sakani” platform during the first half of 2025, as part of its ongoing efforts to boost the housing supply and increase the homeownership rate among Saudi families to 70%, in line with the objectives of the Housing Program, one of the key initiatives of Vision 2030.

In a press release issued today, the Ministry stated that nearly 5,000 housing units have been delivered to beneficiaries of off-plan sales projects, in addition to the delivery of over 4,200 units under developmental housing initiatives, effectively contributing to the provision of suitable housing for eligible citizens.

Moreover, the Ministry facilitated the availability of more than 5,200 residential plots through Sakani platform, bringing the total number of residential plots provided to over 170,000, in a step that supports enabling citizens to access a diverse range of housing options that meet their needs.

The Ministry indicated that during the first half of this year, agreements were signed to connect electric power to seven major projects at a total cost exceeding SAR 3 billion, covering an area of more than 36 million square meters, and serving over 24,000 beneficiaries — reflecting the ministry’s commitment to ensuring the provision of essential infrastructure services in housing projects.

In addition, the Ministry granted 20 new projects the “Ajwad” quality certificate during the first half of 2025, bringing the total number of certified projects to 57. This underscores the commitment of real estate developers to meeting approved technical and financial standards.

In terms of real estate sector development, 70 new real estate developers were qualified under the Developer Support Program, raising the total number of certified developers to 310. Moreover, the Ministry signed strategic partnerships with 36 international developers across 7 countries, aimed at enhancing expertise, knowledge exchange, and improving the overall efficiency of the real estate market.

As part of its ongoing efforts to expand green spaces and enhance quality of life, the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has planted more than 130,000 trees and shrubs over the past six months, bringing the total number planted to 514,000 out of the 1.3 million trees and shrubs targeted under the Green Suburbs Initiative.

The Ministry continues its efforts to achieve the goals of the Housing Program — one of the initiatives Programs of Vision 2030 — by increasing the housing supply, empowering citizens with diverse housing options, and enhancing coordination with relevant entities to provide a sustainable residential environment that meets citizens’ aspirations and supports urban development across the Kingdom.
