His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, paid an official visit to the Madinah region today, during which he met with His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Governor of the region. During the visit, the Ministry’s future plans and achievements in infrastructure and housing projects were reviewed, in addition to discussing the requirements of the next phase in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to improve the quality of life and promote balanced development.
His Excellency also visited the headquarters of the Regional Secretariat, met with His Excellency the Mayor of Madinah, Engineer Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Balihishi, and a number of leaders, and reviewedthe City View platform. Digital technology dedicated to monitoring urban performance indicators, along with the real estate registration project, which is one of the strategic projects supporting digital governance and creating an attractive environment for real estate investment.
The visit included honoring major donors through the "Jood" platform and charitable associations contributing to developmental housing projects, in recognition of their community role and to strengthen the partnership with the third sector.
The visit included a tour of the urban city center project, a visit to the Qiblatain Mosque, and an inspection of the Wadi Qanat rehabilitation project, which extends over 16 kilometers and includes the creation of a 70,000 m2 park that represents a model for sustainable solutions in infrastructure development.
Al-Haqil stressed that these quality projects reflect the Ministry’s commitment to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, through improving the urban landscape, developing infrastructure, and creating an attractive investment and tourism environment, as well as providing new job opportunities for young people. He praised the leadership’s continuous support for the Madinah Municipality and its ability to implement its development plans in a way that enhances the quality of life and serves citizens and visitors.
