The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing wins the IEEE Smart Cities Award in the "Emerging Technology Solutions" category.

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has achieved a new international milestone, adding to its record of successes in the digital transformation journey, by winning the IEEE Smart Cities Award. Global in the category of "Emerging Technology Solutions", for its innovative product "My Lens", which presented a qualitative model in employing generative artificial intelligence technologies to support municipal oversight work, address manifestations of visual distortion, and improve the quality of urban services.

The Ministry was represented at the award ceremony by the Director General of the General Department of Smart Municipalities and Digital Leadership, Engineer Yousef Baroum, who delivered the Ministry’s speech during the ceremony, in which he expressed his pride in this achievement, which reflects the efforts of the work team, stressing that achieving the award within the “Emerging Economies and Cities” track embodies the product leadership and the Ministry’s leadership in employing modern technologies and innovation to achieve a tangible impact on raising the efficiency of municipal work and improving the quality of life.

This award is one of the most prominent international awards in the field of smart cities and urban digital transformation, and is awarded by the IEEE Smart Cities Initiative. Affiliated with the IEEE Foundation Global, which is the world's largest technology organization.

The award was presented during the IEEE International Smart Cities Conference (ISC2 2025). Held in Patras, Greece, at an official ceremony attended by a select group of smart city representatives from around the world.

This global recognition reflects the efforts of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing in the path of digital leadership, and confirms the excellence of the municipal sector in adopting innovative smart solutions that support the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 towards building modern cities and advanced urban services.
