Al-Haqil concludes his visit to China with NHC signing agreements to implement more than 24,000 housing units within the 100,000 units plan by 2030.

His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, concluded today his two-day official visit to the People's Republic of China, which witnessed the signing of the NHC A set of agreements and memoranda of understanding with a number of major Chinese companies, within the framework of a plan to implement 100,000 Saudi-Chinese housing units by 2030, as part of strengthening international partnerships in the fields of housing, infrastructure and smart cities.

The visit included bilateral meetings with leaders of Power China companies. and MCC and CMEC During the meeting, opportunities for cooperation in the fields of industrial construction and modern construction technologies were discussed to accelerate the pace of implementation and increase the efficiency of housing projects. The meeting also reviewed existing achievements, including the completion of 1,184 units with MCC . 1,824 units with Power China/Sinohydro With the incentive for both companies to participate in the partnership program to build 20,000 housing units.

His Excellency met with the heads of the Seventh Bureau of Chinese General Engineering and Construction and CITIC Group. and CACC The meeting discussed expanding partnerships in urban development and EPC+F models. This links financing to implementation, in addition to signing two framework agreements that include the implementation of more than 24,000 housing units, as well as strategic agreements to support supply chains and localize the construction industries through digital initiatives offered by the SupplyPro platform. The agreements included the signing of a framework agreement with the Seventh Bureau of China General Engineering Works to implement 20,000 housing units worth 8.70 billion riyals, which is the fifth project that brings the two sides together. The second project was also awarded to CACC. With the company being incentivized to participate in the 20,000-unit program, CMEC conducted and CITIC Group Working meetings to enhance partnership and participation within the same program, in addition to exploring the localization of supply chains related to building materials and technologies.

Al-Haqil stressed that the implementation of more than 24,000 housing units represents one of the most prominent goals and main outcomes of the visit, noting that these agreements embody an advanced executive stage in the path of Saudi-Chinese cooperation, and move the partnership from the stage of technical cooperation to the stage of actual construction and implementation of field projects.

His Excellency added that this step contributes to achieving the objectives of the Housing Program – one of the programs of Saudi Vision 2030 – to raise the homeownership rate to 70% by 2030, enhances the sustainability of the real estate market, and generates new investment and industrial opportunities that support local content and provide quality job opportunities. He emphasized that the Ministry – with the support of the wise leadership – is proceeding with expanding its international partnerships through the National Housing Company (NHC). To accelerate the pace of construction and improve the quality of projects, and to link development with advanced financing models and stable supply chains.

His Excellency explained that the visit to China constituted an important milestone in the path of developing joint cooperation in the fields of housing and smart cities, in line with the rapid urban growth in the Kingdom’s cities within the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
