The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing revealed that its affiliated secretariats and municipalities carried out more than 7.7 million inspection tours of cities, neighborhoods, commercial establishments, and construction sites during the past months, as part of its efforts to improve the urban landscape and raise the quality of life in the Kingdom's cities. .

The ministry explained that the inspection tours during November resulted in the detection and handling of 110,071 violations in various areas of municipal work, indicating that the inspection work is based on an advanced technological system, including a system "My Country's Lens" is based on artificial intelligence and geospatial analysis to detect manifestations of visual distortion, in addition to the use of surveillance cameras inside food and health facilities and the application of approved lists for monitoring commercial, food and construction activities. .

The ministry affirmed that municipal oversight is a fundamental part of its regulatory and operational responsibilities, given its connection to pedestrian safety, neighborhood cleanliness, food safety, and the quality of daily services upon which residents depend. It noted that these efforts have contributed to increased compliance rates in commercial and food-related activities, enhanced food safety, improved urban landscapes, and better urban planning across the Kingdom. .

The ministry indicated that it will continue during the coming period to expand the scope of monitoring supported by smart technologies, raise the efficiency of response to reports, and increase the presence of field teams in neighborhoods, in order to enhance the quality of municipal services and maintain a safe and balanced urban environment. .

The ministry called on community members and establishments to support oversight efforts by reporting violations through approved channels, stressing that compliance with regulations and bylaws is a shared responsibility, and that partnership with the community is a fundamental pillar in developing the urban landscape and achieving a cleaner, safer and higher quality environment in the Kingdom’s cities.
