The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing revealed the participation of more than 300,000 male and female volunteers in volunteering initiatives in the municipalities and housing sector during 2025, as part of efforts aimed at improving the quality of life, promoting environmental sustainability, and upgrading the urban landscape in the cities and governorates of the Kingdom.
The ministry explained that the volunteer initiatives included carrying out various works, including the establishment and maintenance of public parks, the development of the urban landscape, support for civil society organizations, and contributing to reducing environmental pollution, in addition to initiatives aimed at activating the urban identity, improving the residential environment and raising the quality of its facilities.
She explained that the volunteering paths in the municipalities and housing sector have diversified to include the housing path, the urban landscape improvement and city beautification path, the monitoring and surveillance path, the preservation of blessings path, the honoring of the dead path, in addition to the comprehensive volunteering path, which provides multiple volunteering opportunities that suit the different segments of society and their interests.
The ministry affirmed its continued commitment to implementing and developing volunteer pathways in the municipalities and housing sector, contributing to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, supporting the growth of the non-profit sector, and enhancing the contribution of volunteers to sustainable urban development.
She noted that the participation of more than 300,000 volunteers reflects the growing culture of volunteer work and its role in supporting development efforts and raising the level of community participation in improving cities and quality of life.
